What is Jungle Way?

Jungle Way was the creation of Sasha and Lek Meelap, when in 2002 they moved from Koh Chang's White Sands Beach to their present location in the the heart of the jungle, south of Klong Son Village. Home to Lek's family for generations, Sasha and Lek carved out a sustainable business catering to the more discerning traveller looking for something a little different to everything else on the island. The popularity of Jungle Way treks has continued to grow since their inception in 2003, as have Jungle Way retreats. Jungle Way itself has gone through significant change since its humble beginnings, and in 2007 we have taken on extra staff to cope with demand.

Lek Meelap

Born and raised on Koh Chang, Lek is an expert on the local forest wildlife and leads ALL of our Jungle Way treks himself. Lek is chief liason with all other ventures Jungle Way is connected or collaborating with, including Ban Kwan Chang Elephant Camp, our boat trips, snorkelling or diving trips, and anyone interested in purchasing land on Koh Chang, but not sure where to start.
Lek may just as often be found adding extentions to Jungle Way, as ferrying sick and injured animals to Lisa at the Koh Chang Animal Foundation. Having worked at KC's Bar and Resort, Lek is no stranger to the tourist industry! Lek's mother is the fulltime chef for Jungle Way and cooks outstanding Thai and western meals that simply must be tried to be believed.

Sasha Lysons

Born in the UK, Sasha first met Lek while travelling through Thailand in 2000. Sasha's background is a world apart from Lek's, having trained as a professional Nanny in London. Sasha deals with all tourist enquiries, website enquiries and arranging transport and pick-ups for our guests. In 2005 Sasha and Lek were married in a traditional Thai wedding ceremony at Jungle Way. In August 2006 Sasha gave birth to their beautiful daughter Emi, making Jungle Way a truly family affair.
