Jungle Way is situated in the heart of the Koh Chang jungle near the traditional Thai fishing village of Klong Son. Use the following directions to get to Koh Chang where we will be happy to pick you up from the ferry when you call us. Alternatively, you can take a taxi to Klong Son and call us from there.

There is a myriad of ways of getting to Koh Chang. Below we outline some of the more well-beaten trails leading from Bangkok to Trat, and then Trat to Koh Chang.

Travel from Bangkok

Minibuses

Many travel agencies offer comprehensive tickets from Bangkok, including mini bus and ferry fees to Koh Chang. Departure times are usually in the morning (8.00am), with arrival at the Laem Ngop Piers between 1.30 - 2.30pm. This means that the island can be reached on the same day. Prices vary between 170 - 250 Baht.

Buses

From the eastern bus terminal Ekamai on Sukhumvit Road, a seat on an A/C bus can be purchased for 197 Baht (phone 02391 2504), and non A/C buses for 140 Baht (phone 02391 8097). Buses leave hourly between 5.00am and 11.00pm. Travel time by bus will take between 4 and 6 hours depending on the departure time.

A new north bus terminal Morchitmai on Kamphaeng Phet Road (the station sign actually says Chatachuk, not Morchit) offers an alternative route. Phone 02936-3660 or 02936-3666.

Buses only travel as far as Trat where you will need to take further transport to get to Laem Ngop Pier.

Flying from Bangkok

Bangkok Airways (phone 02265 5678) flies from Bangkok to Trat and return, twice daily. From Trat airport, limousine (minibus) transfer to Koh Chang is available at 200-250 Baht per trip, depending on the hotel you stay at on the island.

Travel from Trat

From Trat the short trip to any of the ferry piers can be made either by chartered pickup, or public pickup. Chartered pickups take you to the Centre Point Pier (when desired, also to Laem Ngop Pier). The price is negotiable, but at the most expect to pay 100 Baht. Public pickups (called songthaows, where you are literally on the back of a pickup truck) should be available for 20 Baht per passenger, and take you 20 minutes to Laem Ngop Pier, 17 kilometres away. The songthaows wait at the first intersection directly behind the market, on the same side of the street. They leave when 10 to 15 passengers are collected.
