One day treks are available to the mountain interior of Koh Chang. Pristine rain forest covers almost 75% of Koh Chang, making the island an eco paradise. The rocks on Koh Chang (mainly granite) have rounded slopes rather than sheer cliffs, so that trekking is possible. Mangroves and beach forest line the shores, and the whole island supports a huge diversity of wildlife. Our longer treks climb Khao Chom Prasat (661m) to take in magnificent views over Koh Chang. Our experienced guide introduces you to local flora and fauna with the possibility of seeing Stump-tailed Macaque’s, Silvered Langur’s, Barking Deer, Javan Mongooses, snakes, Monitor Lizard’s and Oriental Pied Hornbill’s. Alternatively you can visit the bays around Klong Son village to see one of the few remaining mangrove forests in Koh Chang, which ranks among the best-preserved in Thailand. There are also many enchanting waterfalls in the jungle, accessed only during one of our treks to make sure that your time in the jungle is unforgettable. We can also arrange visits to Ban Kwan Chang Elephant Camp as part of a guided trek. |

Trekking Packages |
We also offer a trekking package which includes accommodation at Jungle Way following your days trekking and includes dinner and breakfast before dropping you off to your hotel. Or, perhaps you will want to stay longer with us at Jungle Way… |
What's included in the price? |
Lunch, water and fruit are provided as part of the trek price, in addition to Jungle Way collecting you and dropping you off at the beginning and end of your trip! Please inform Jungle Way prior to your trek of any special dietary requirements |
Optional Extras |
Jungle
Way can also organise treks for the more discerning and adventurous trekker†.
If you are interested in overnight treks or excursions to the heart of
the island then contact us. Treks
into the island interior fall into our strenuous category (click here to see how our grading system
works) because no tracks exist and pathways must be cleared with a machette
en-route. †Dependent upon numbers |
Jungle Way Trekking Policy |
Jungle Way treks focus on the basis of “leave nothing but your footprints” while visiting the interior of the island. We also recommend this wherever you visit during your stay on Koh Chang. Our treks are led by Lek and another local guide, both of whom come from the island of Koh Chang, and are therefore knowledgeable in the flora and fauna on the island. Jungle Way only leads small trekking groups so as not to smother local people in the jungle. Our trekking guides explain local customs during the trek and while visiting local ventures (including an elephant camp and a traditional rubber production facility). We ask that customers try to respect as many of the local customs and beliefs as possible. This helps to ensure that local people remain accepting of our trekking groups. |
